In close collaboration with Ambition, we developed, designed and brought to life a world of gaming for Oddset.
Oddset Games is DanskeSpil’s online gaming platform where you can challenge your friends and bet on real sports events by putting nothing more than play-money and bragging rights on the line.
And to show what life is like when you put your head in the game, we invented a little sports-fanatic mascot for Oddset Games named "Odd". He would feature in fun introductions to each game, which were our primary task to create for this campaign.
Character Development
All ideas start somewhere and most likely they did with pen and paper. Well, so did our little friend, Odd!
Odd is always ready for the next game and goes all in, whatever the odds. We imagined him in all the different situations a gamer like Odd would find himself in: on the field, in the locker room, in the pub, all the while winning, of course—and if you win some, you usually lose some as well.
Besides simply being a big "O" and thus the first letter of Oddset, Odd also features a headband with the cross of Oddset's logo. Another connection we made to the brand is through the setting: every vignette is set inside the die of Danske Spil's logo.
Animation
With the concept and hero in place, it's game time!
We created all the different scenarios for Odd and headed into animation, starting with handdrawn tests followed by 3D previsualization before polishing it for the final piece.
